Public Observing Sessions

Take a look at the cratered landscapes on the moon, the rings of Saturn and other objects of our universe!
Depending on their visibility we show the most interesting celestial objects through our telescopes.

Here you find more informations about the telescopes.

When?
Every tuesday and friday at 9 pm.

Only when the sky is clear!

NOTE: Observatory is currently closed due to renovation!
Observing might start again in spring 2012.

Where?
The meeting point is at the entrance of the eastern observatory.
It is situated in the courtyard of the Deutsches Museum, in the corner left from the museum's main entrance.

Admission free!

Please think of low temperatures in the evening, also in the summertime. The observatory is not heated in order to avoid air turbulences which would cause bad seeing quality.

The observatory is only accessible via stairs so the visit is unfortunately not suited for people with mobility problems.
